Costume
inspiration
These are the masks we were inspired by, as even though they look human they have this creepy look to them which make them look fake and plastic. These masks were used in the popular film "The Purge" (2013)

Our Masks
These are the masks we will be using in our trailer
Editing a photo of our mask
1- This is our original image with one of the masks on. This photo has no effects used.
2- We edited the original picture on a site called "PicMonkey" where we changed the colour and added a slightly blurred grained overlay.
3- We then took the PicMonkey image and started to edit it in "Photoshop" where we added a light effect which focused on one point of the image.
By doing these edits on the photo of the mask, it got us thinking ahead of how we would create our magazine cover and film poster. It also helped us to get some practice on each of the programs, so now we have a better understanding how they work, which will become useful to us when we are ready to create our magazine cover and film poster.
Our Outfits
Edward JonesWe thought hard about James costume as we wanted to make sure it looked old fashioned and dated. We instantly thought about having a wooly patterned jumper, which was easy to get hold of as James said he had one. We also researched clothing in the past and saw that men were very well presented and smart, which gave us the idea of wearing smart black trousers, and a shirt and tie underneath the jumper.

Masked FigureFor Abbey's costume we chose a hospital gown as it gives across a very sinister atmosphere. We also thought it would link in with the "Masked Figure's" background story of ending up in hospital due to the bad happenings in the house. Getting hold of the hospital gown was very simple and easy as in our school's Drama department, in which we had previously seen the hospital gown in, so we just simply borrowed it. As you can also see in the picture Abbey wears one of the masks, adding to the creepy and mysterious atmosphere.
