Past trailers
These are a few past A2 Horror Trailers created last year by our school, along with our opinions and improvements we would make. By looking through their trailers we were able to see what worked well and what didn't and helped us to get some inspiration for our work. It was also interesting to see how they had edited them and how they all approached the task in different ways.

AnnikaThis trailer has a total of 47 camera shots, and 5 titles. We like many things about this trailer from the effects to the setting. A classic home setting follows Wes Craven's theory of "bad things happening in safe places" The make up and fake blood are both very effective, especially the use of white contact lenses as it helps make the characters possessed and very sinister. The blood worked great with the reverse of the clip so the blood. In many horrors the girl is usually the victim however their use of role reversal works great.

Bloody maryThis trailer has less camera shots than the previous trailer, with a total of 31, and 5 titles. We love the fact they have used hardly any sound track, and most of the sound is from the interview. We also love the effect they have used for the interview room to make it look like its been recorded, this effect is something we will take note of while creating our trailer. The jumps/skips in a couple of the clips along with the flashes between clips and a great edgy atmosphere. Also the scream from the victim being interviewed at the end of the trailer is a great ending which gives the audience chills. Its a struggle to think of improvements for this trailer as we really like it, however one thing we would suggest is to add a couple of shots of Bloody Mary where they consist of more action, as at the moment she is either just walking, sitting or standing.

The Prophecy''The Prophecy'' consists of 33 shots and 5 titles. The contrapuntal music is what makes this trailer standout as its completely different to what you usually hear on other horror trailers. Filming in the evening/dark added to the eary atmosphere along with the many different locations they filmed in. However a couple of their shots are grainy and the quality isn't as good as some other clips. The costumes/make-up and fake blood used are very realistic which makes the trailer more professional, along with the great acting. Even though the clips are quite long it works great with the pace of the music. The use of a moving background behind their titles adds more depth.
