'Prom Night' uses the tag line 'A Night To Die For' to show that there horror involves murder or deaths, with the use of one simple tag line it intrigues the audience wondering why a prom night should be a night to die for.
The poster makes the audience wonder because the wouldn't resemble a prom to turn into Horror which makes this poster even better.
The poster uses's the Horor conventions of white, black and red on there poster, with the title in bold red letters it draws the audience into looking at the poster.
It also uses's the stereotypical female victim role on the poster showing that she might not be such a nice girl as she's got a diamond tiara across her face making it look like she's a popular person. Making you think about the tag line thinking that she must have done something bad to make someone want to kill her.

'The Texas chainsaw massacre' used the tag line 'Buzz kill' which relates directly to the background of the movie. As it is based around a crazed killer that uses a chainsaw for his work.
The poster uses a very conventional red text, and the focus of the image zones in on the actual chainsaw. This shows that the chainsaw is iconic for the movie, and that the chainsaw will play a huge part throughout the film.

Sinister uses the tagline 'Once you see him, nothing can save you' which shows that the movie is based around a person or a spirit. This person/spirit is an evil one, and kills innocent people if they see him.

And that the young girl will play a huge part in the film, and blood will be shed throughout. We also see a face within the blood, and we can infer that the face will be the cause of all the blood in the film.
